Using America Online to access the Internet
America Online offers several versions of its software for use on a computer using a Windows operating system. While all of its versions will work on a Windows 95/98/2000/NT system, only the 32- bit versions are capable of viewing the IBD Charts. It is important to verify that the 32-bit version is used when accessing our services. To determine if you have the correct version, use the following guidelines:
- Open the AOL program (click "Start" > "Programs" > "America Online")
- Click the "Help" menu (top bar of browser)
- Locate and click "About America Online"
- A new window will open with the version information. If you do not see "32-bit" it will be necessary to upgrade. Use the following URL to access AOL's download page: http://www.aol.com/downloadaol.adp
Additionally, since IBD Charts are shown in an Internet browser, it is necessary to verify that the browser settings allow the ActiveX codes to function. This may be done by verifying the browser settings from the CONTROL PANEL. Please reference the information on Internet Explorer and related ActiveX settings. |
